Great Juicing Tips – Simple and Easy

When you have to start juicing, start with green leafy vegetables that not only you like, but also are easily available in all seasons. Avoid drinking lots of sweet juices, they may be tasty, but too much sugar content is not good for health. So start with leafy vegetable juices and slowly introduce  vegetables that you don’t like much. You can also introduce fresh fruit juice such as banana, strawberry and grapes.

Juice for weight loss

I use my juice cleanse recipes to make vegetable juice that I drink 2-4 glasses of a day. In between I focus on my high protein sugar free diet. A simple routine that works for my lifestyle. I started in April 2014 weighing 21 stone 10lbs (304lbs or 137 kilos) with a goal of losing 24 lbs every 3-4 months and am on track to succeed.

Even though I began to learn about the effects of sugar back in 2010 I didn’t really take it all in. I had this information but I didn’t act on it and information without implementation is useless. In a way I was still in denial. I just didn’t want to give it up. It was only as I began to put the weight back on I realized what I was doing. I was back to eating way too much refined sugar and my weight started to creep up and up again.

I am not a fan of sugary snacks or drinks. My weight gain didn’t come from that type of food. The refined sugar I ate daily was inside the every day food I was eating, the low-fat yogurts for instance. This is why I am hoping to explain through this blog post what makes refined sugar bad for you – so let’s get going.

Firstly, how much sugar should we include in our diet? In the UK the recommended amount is 50g (1.7oz) for women and 70g (2.5 oz) for men.

You also need a good Juicer

As we know, the importance of juice for health and fitness, You also need a good juicer to make juicing experience easy. If you have your own personal juicer, then you can make juice whenever you want. Just pop up green leafy vegetables and fruits into your juicer and you can have healthy glass of juice ready.

Having a good quality juicer is also economical in a long run. If you need to regularly buy a juice from the store, it will cost around £10 – £20, which adds up to around £400 monthly.  Just make sure the juicer you buy is of good quality and have all the minimum features you need. A juicer which is easy to clean is better for those who need to juice regularly.

top juicers in India

Most people know about the extensive health benefits of juicing, but nobody enjoys the process of setting up the juicer and worst of all, cleaning up afterwards. I own Philips Viva juicer.  I was impressed with the fact that it wasn’t as loud as my old juicer but it still is LOUD. I loved the fact that it wasn’t as wide either so took up less space. Its taller rather than wider.

What I don’t like is the fact that there is pulp in it. With my old juicer it was all juice and nothing else. Its the difference between orange with and without “bits” and it matters. I hate orange with bits and I hate my juice with it too. Still, a small thing to have to put up with because this really does use less veg and give more juice.

Importance of fresh juice

While it’s easy to drink fruit juice, fruits are high in sugar and should be juiced less often and even better, fruits should be juiced rarely. Fruits are natural cleansers of the body when eaten whole.

Vitamins A and C play an important role in helping our immune system so when I thought about an immune boosting vegetable juice recipe I knew it had to contain the follow the following

Tomato Pumpkin Juice

  • pumpkin – vitamin A, zinc, potassium
  • sweet potato – vitamin C, iron and vitamin D
  • carrot – vitamin A
  • kale – vitamins A and C
  • tomato – vitamins A and C

Plus my usual two – ginger and lemon

This is a delicious immune boosting vegetable juice recipe and I tend to add more pumpkin because I love the taste and it is available in abundance during October.

If you want it to look more orange than sandy in color you can miss out the kale but then the only real vegetable will be the carrot and sweet potato, as both pumpkins and tomatoes are fruit. You can always find another substitute.

A search online will provide you with a list of other vegetables and fruit that are great for building up and protecting our immune system so play around with it and add what you prefer.

Health benefits of pumpkin

  • Pumpkins contain high levels of vitamin A so makes a great fruit addition to this vegetable juice.
  • It is also rich in minerals like copper, potassium, zinc and calcium.
  • Believe it or not, pumpkins are a great vegetable source of protein (their seeds) and they also contain unsaturated fats.
  • High in fiber – helps you digest your food efficiently

Is rowing machine better than elliptical trainer?

The workout provided by a rowing machine is hailed as one of the best that you can get. It provides a low-impact exercise that tones the arms, legs, back, and core abdominal muscles. It also provides you with the heart benefits of a vigorous cardio workout. Stationary bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals cannot reach all of these muscle groups. In this article we will talk about rowing machine, elliptical and treadmills and will also do the comparison between rowing machine and elliptical. You will also learn how you can choose the best rowing machine in UK later in this article.

Benefits of rowing machine

Establishing a regular rowing machine exercise routine is an efficient way to burn off excess calories and fat. In fact, you can rid yourself of up to 800 unwanted calories every hour. A major benefit of working out with rowing machines is that you get to remain seated the entire time. Thus, much of the drudgery and exertion of traditional exercise methods is eliminated. This non-impact nature of the exercise helps maintain user enthusiasm for much longer.

The specific motions entailed in rowing machine workouts involve moving your arms back and forth repeatedly. Your cardiac system really like this! The circulatory stimulation to your heart is increased. This phenomenon is great for enhancing overall coronary health. As already mentioned, this very low physical impact is much less damaging to ankle and leg tendons and muscular or bone tissues. Rowing is therefore appropriate for anyone – whether in perfect fiscal fitness or an exercise novice. Even those in recovery from surgery or prior injury can enjoy the benefits of rowing machine exercise.

The act of rowing involves your whole body. This feature by itself is a huge benefit! Every part of your body is exercised as you row. You will definitely realize this total effect on the day following a rowing machine exercise session. Contemporary rowing machines are constructed to closely simulate the actual process of real rowing. Many are even equipped with audial components that sound like waves or other water activities.

Rowing is an excellent non-injurious alternative to more conventional exercise methods and equipment. Implements like cross country training or treadmill runners can cause long-term foot or leg damage. Just as with jogging, rowing exercise uses all muscle systems and increases overall body muscular activity. Also, as it requires activity by every muscle in your body. Thus, rowing falls within the category of “total body” exercises. Take it from me – you’ll be a believer about this aspect of rowing the very first time you complete a workout!

Nonetheless, conventional rowing is often inconvenient or impossible. Of course, you must first possess or have access to a rowboat, sufficiently large body of water, and a bunch of like-minded rowing buddies. Consequently, getting the benefits of just a single exercise session is quite cumbersome. This has led most people to look for exercise options that are much easier to access.

Before beginning your search, however, seriously consider trying out a rowing machine. The latest rowing machines were designed as realistic substitutes for the experience of real rowboating on water. These innovative devices are as close one can possibly get to actual rowing participation without having to go near a drop of water!

Rowing machine workouts and physical training strengthen both your upper and lower body by exercising all major muscles in these anatomical areas. One of the best benefits of rowing machines is that you may exercise arms, legs, lower back, and shoulders without accompanying injury or tissue damage. Because rowing is low-impact, it carries correspondingly lower risks, provided you observe proper precautions and exercise techniques. Due to these benefits, we think rowing machine is better than elliptical trainer.

rowing machine 2018The Outrigger rowing machine is one of the most well rated hydraulic models. The machine provides a simulation that is fairly similar to the rowing motions that you would perform on real water. The shock absorber utilized is the same which can be found on automobiles. The smooth circular motion of the rowing is much more similar to rowing oars pivoting on real outrigger bars. This machine is also thankfully one of the smallest, lightest and inexpensive models available.

Some of the other rowing machines on the market use magnetic resistance. This provides for multiple levels of resistance and easy adjustability. This ease of resistance adjustability makes them desirable models. The price for these models ranges from several hundred dollars to one thousand dollars.

Air and Water machines are prized as the best rowing machines out there. The resistance increases in conjunction with the speed which is generated. This provides a sensation as close to real rowing on a boat as you can get. This resistance may be more difficult to adjust, however on air machines as opposed to water resistance models.

To figure out which model is the best rowing machine for your use, you will need to examine the following criteria: Rider weight may have a maximum limit of 250 pounds up to a possible 500 pounds. Obviously, your personal situation will dictate the appropriate model. You will also have to examine height limits if you are extremely tall or short. You will also need to determine your space requirements. If you have a home gym with room to spare, it is not a concern. I’ve written the articles that the links on this page point to in order to help novice pond keepers and experienced pond keepers to get a better understanding of how to choose a pond pump. All the information required can be found in one place.

If nothing else at least look at the power consumption of the fish pond water pump you are interested in purchasing. This is particularly applicable when asking yourself “What size pond pump do I need?” … The best fish pond pump for your needs may not necessarily be the biggest pond pump model.

What Pond Pump Do I Need?

After reading the articles on this article you will hopefully be able to make an informed decision and know how to choose the right pond pump.

Saving a few $$$ on what appears to be a really cheap, powerful pump may possible cost you much more in the long run due to electricity usage.

Looking at the pond pump wattage is extremely important especially when comparing like with like. The simple act of comparing the wattage of a fish pond pump with another model can save you plenty of money in the long term.

How Do I Choose The Best Location For A Fish Pond

A fish pond or water garden requires certain essentials: Firstly a reliable pond pump; secondly a biological pond filter and thirdly an ultraviolet sterilizer. These three units are normally connected in sequence and will ensure a happy healthy pond environment for some time to come. Pond pumps are essential because they provide oxygen; an essential requirement for your koi and other fish. The beneficial bacteria, living in your bio filter also require large amounts of oxygen. However not all pond pumps are as good as one another.

  • Are you intending to keep koi, gold fish or any other kind of fish in a backyard pond environment. If the answer is yes, then a pond pump is an essential.
  • You will need to choose a robust model that is capable of handling the size of the pond. A submersible pond pump is often the choice for the majority of pond environments. These in pond pumps are situated in the pond itself, slightly off the pond bottom so as to avoid clogging by debris and other matter.
  • Many novice pond keepers make the critical mistake of  basing their choice of  pond pump solely on the cost price. They neglect to consider the actual electricity Costs Of The Garden Pump. This can prove to be a costly long term mistake when you consider that a pond pump needs to run 24/7/365 days a year.
  • Choose a good quality pond pump from a reputable manufacturer with a proven track record .. look on the internet, read water gardening magazines. You will soon see who the major players are. Products from these manufacturers are designed to last for a long time and are usually sold with good warranties, in the unlikely event of pond pump failure. Cheap pond pumps are usually cheap for a reason … they are inferior in terms of performance, life span and power consumption.
  • Water pumps for pond use come in a myriad of shapes and sizes. It is always a good idea to read any available literature, particularly the product information on the pond pump packaging. If you don’t quite understand something or need help then don’t be afraid to ask the supplier questions. Most reputable retailers won’t mind answering any questions you may have.
  • Always bear in mind that even seasoned pond keepers struggle to make sense of some of the printed information and to make comparisons between various pond pump models. A Pond Pump Curve graph provides a visual picture that will help too make pond pump selection easier. Always be wary of  manufacturers whose packaging contains very little detail about the pump product inside.

Buying a pond pump in UK 2018

pond pumps UKThere are several things to consider in order to make a good decision for a pump purchase. Pond pumps have the ability to power both waterfalls and fountains as well as create circulation. A water pump is the heart of any garden pond. External pumps can move a high volume of water and still manage to outperform submersible pumps in energy costs. The first thing is to determine your required flow rate.

  • To maximize the performance, it is important to choose the correct mixture of pump and fountain head, otherwise your pond may end up with insufficient circulation and lead to an unhealthy pond that is low in oxygen.
  • These are the devices that power the filters, the waterfalls and fountains and which provide for the proper circulation of the water.
  • Although not as quiet as submersible pumps and a lot more complicated to install, external pumps are generally more reliable.
  • You will want your minimum flow rate to be at least half of your pond volume (Pond Volume Calculator). For example if you have a pond that contains 2,000 gallons of water Aqua UV Unitsthen you will want to pump at least 1,000 gallons per hour (gph). Another important factor in choosing the right pump is how cost effective it is.
  • Measure the width, length and depth of your pond.

Installing these devices properly is necessary to ensure that they function to their highest level of performance and to ensure that the outdoor pond is kept healthy and safe. In a magnetic-drive pump, an electrical charge creates a magnetic field that causes the magnet on the impeller to rotate and pump water. If your pump is running 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, the cost of electricity to power it can get high rather quickly. We suggest using averages for ponds with irregular shapes. The majority of the pumps being installed directly inside the tank, they are referred to as submersible pumps.

There are two main types of pond pumps: submersible and external (out-of-pond), also known as centrifugal pumps. While pumps marketed as energy saving may have a higher initial price, the lower cost of monthly power bills will make up for it and actually save you money in the long run. We do strongly recommend though that you over estimate rather than underestimate. The advantages of this model lie in the fact that there is far less risk of temperature rising or fuses blowing. Depending on the application, each pump offers specific advantages. Read more

Exercise And Pain Management To Keep You Healthy

Exercise can be an excellent form of pain management. A properly designed workout routine can loosen and strengthen muscles and alleviate pressure in your joints. If you’re suffering from chronic pain and thinking about beginning a new exercise routine you may want to consult your family doctor or a physiotherapist because while the right exercises could decrease your pain, the wrong exercises may lead to further injury.

When you begin working out for the first time it’s normal to experience muscle pain and fatigue in your body. Your muscles have to break and rebuild in order to get stronger and this is something you’re going to feel, even more so the harder you work out. Don’t be discouraged by the soreness you experience because that just means you’re on the right path to feeling stronger and more flexible.

Back pain can be a real killer for a lot of people. When you’re already in pain the last thing you want to do is put yourself in more pain by getting up and trying to move an inflamed and irritated part of you body. That’s understandable, but the only way to really cure your back pain is to strengthen the muscles around the weakened ones so you have maximum support. Simple stretches may be all it takes to get your back in the shape it needs to be to prevent chronic pain or future injuries. However, don’t forget the importance of starting out slow and steady as it will prevent further injury to sensitive areas of your body.

Not unlike back pain, injuries that are causing you constant pain may be helped with proper exercise. The stronger the rest of your body is the better equipped it will be to support the weaker areas. A knee injury that’s never properly healed or an ankle that’s prone to spraining can be remedied with strong support muscles that pick up the slack of the weaker muscles.

While taking it easy may seem like the right thing to do when you’re sore or injured, a well designed workout routine may actually get you back on your feet quicker. It’s important to be careful and go slow however, so check with your medical professionals if you feel something may put you at risk for further injury.
