CALL FOR FERVENT PROSECUTIONS
OF CRIMINAL VIOLATIONS OF RIGHTS -
18 U.S.C. sections 241 (Conspiracy Against
Rights) and 242 (Deprivations of Rights
Under Color of Law) Violations:

Transparency International, a prestigious coalition of anti-
corruption advocates, reports that “(i)n most democracies today,
corrupt politicians, officials and businessmen can exploit both
civil and criminal law to silence their critics.”  President-Elect
Barack Obama and Vice-President-Elect Joseph Biden have
promised to counterbalance such abuses of power.  That can
hardly be done through a U.S. Justice Department more
responsive to power, wealth and the corresponding prestige than
compelling evidence of criminal civil, constitutional, and human
rights violations.

IS THE OBAMA JUSTICE DEPARTMENT
(Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section)
USER-FRIENDLY?

  • Rate its POPULARITY:

We'll be gauging the POPULARITY of the Civil Rights Division,
Criminal Section, of President Obama’s Justice Department from
the perspective of average Americans.  Assessing the section will
come down to determining whether its staff members are fair,
which involves grading everything from their cordiality,
attentiveness, and promptness, to their reasonableness, general
competence, persistence, and effectiveness.

Here's our criteria:

Staff regularly allows initial and a reasonable number of
follow-up meetings in person and by phone;
Staff is generally cordial and attentive as evidenced by
their eye contact, questions asked, notes taken, and the
amount of follow-up recommended;
If staff can't or won't handle a problem, they give good
reasons for their decision(s) and recommend alternative
avenues of relief;
Meetings and conferences with staff net appropriate
results like reasonable investigations, grand jury inquiries,
legislation proposals, indictments, prosecutions, trials,
and convictions;
Final decisions are made promptly but carefully.

Our "Obama Lights The Way" campaign
is to include candlelight vigils for
justice; periodic, post-inauguration
requests that the Justice Department
investigate certain violations of civil,
constitutional, and/or human rights; and
corresponding evaluations of the
Justice Department's user-friendliness
or "POPULARITY."
