POPULAR's MISSION continued:
The nonprofit corporation is advised by a board of lay
community leaders.
POPULAR's advocacy is largely premised on the
recognition that an independent judiciary is the
prerequisite for rule of law. The "rule of law" holds for
Americans the promise of due process, fair hearings,
equal protection, and justice - even for unpopular
people, in unpopular cases, and unpopular causes.
Among other things, POPULAR continuously
scrutinizes America's judiciary, seeking to enforce its
transparency with particular momentum as "(i)t is the
poor and disadvantaged who suffer disproportionately
from judicial corruption". See, Transparency
